Welcome!
I offer customized dance classes and movement workshops for all ages, from children to seniors and everyone in between!
Recently retired as the head of dance and director of graduate studies in dance at the University of Maryland, I am renewing myself as a dance movement therapist and dance educator. I’m a Certified Movement Analyst (CMA) in Laban Movement Analysis, a trained dance therapist, a somatics practitioner in several modalities, a dance educator, a coach for performers of all kinds, and an active community member of the Eastern Shore of Nova Scotia.
I’m also the President of the Laban/Bartenieff Institute of Movement Studies, the Chair of the Board of the Old School Community Gathering Place, and sit on the board of Dance Nova Scotia.
I’ve researched and published articles, chapters, and a book on the Laban work, movement and neuroscience, dance and learning, arts education, and arts advocacy. I’ve taught and lectured in the U.S., Canada, South Africa, Belgium, the U.K., Ireland, and Mexico. I am very happy to be living and working in a beautiful part of the world, within a lovely community!
